About AEON

AEON School, formerly Avenues Online and Avenues Silicon Valley, is a division of AEON Learning Sciences that exists to create innovative solutions that enable learners to move the world. AEON was founded by key leaders who transformed Avenues The World School from an ambitious vision into a leading model of global education. This proven experience in reinventing education now drives AEON’s mission to create transformative learning experiences at a global scale.

Starting with 22 pioneering students in 2019, AEON School has grown into a global learning community spanning six continents while staying true to our academic excellence and student wellbeing mission. This commitment is evident in our institutional strength: accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and NCAA-approved courses underscore the rigor of our academic program. Our partnerships—with organizations supporting Olympians and initiatives like Rise (a project of Schmidt Futures and the Rhodes Trust)—demonstrate our ability to nurture scholastic achievement and, at the same time, exceptional talent across academics, athletics, research, the arts, and leadership.

Since 2021, AEON graduates have thrived at well-chosen colleges and universities, including Harvard, Stanford, University of Chicago, and University of Pennsylvania.

Our journey of innovation began in 2012 when our team pioneered the development of proprietary learning technology that now powers AEON School. We don’t settle for incremental improvements in education—we aim to revolutionize it. This commitment is exemplified by innovations like Flight Path analytics—a system that fundamentally transforms how we understand and support each student’s unique learning journey. Like all our innovations, Flight Path emerged from our belief that technology should enhance, not replace, the teacher-student relationship. Unlike schools that lean toward legacy and preservation of the past, AEON leans toward innovation and creating the future. Our ethos is simple: we never leave well enough alone.

Starting from proven methods, we aim to iterate and improve continuously, driven by the belief that education must evolve to prepare students for a complex, interconnected future. Our team has produced noteworthy innovations like the Avenues World Elements framework, Great Works curriculum, Exchange notebooks, AI studybot Savvy, and Flight Path analytics. Guided by curiosity, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence, we seek solutions that surpass expectations. In an educational landscape that often favors the familiar, we’ve learned that breakthroughs come from daring to zig when others zag. This willingness to chart new paths ensures AEON not only stays ahead of trends but fundamentally redefines what’s possible in education.

The name AEON /ā-on/ reflects our enduring commitment to growth and knowledge. Derived from AON, our moniker for Avenues Online, and rooted in the Greek word for “forever,” AEON represents timeless excellence. Our logo combines two powerful symbols: an infinity loop, symbolizing discovery and learning, and a phoenix, embodying transformation and renewal. Together, they reflect our belief in education’s infinite potential and transformative power.
